What to Expect

We understand that starting something new can feel a little overwhelming — especially when it comes to health and wellbeing. At Sakura Health & Wellness, we aim to make your experience as welcoming, comfortable, and clear as possible from the very beginning.

Making an Appointment

You have decided to make the call to Sakura Health & Wellness or we have received your referral and our friendly receptionist is calling you to discuss this further. Our friendly administration team will guide you through the booking process, answer any questions, discuss fees or funding processes and give you any information on what to bring with you. We’ll talk about your needs and help match you with the right psychologist, speech pathologist, dietitian, or allied health professional. We’ll confirm your referral details and obtain all relevant details if you have them on hand.

Before your first Appointment

You’ll be asked to complete an online intake form, a consent form that requires your signature and any relevant questionnaires. These will need to be completed at least 48 hours prior to your appointment. If requested please forward the referral to our administration team prior to your appointment. Please bring along any relevant reports, or documents from your GP, school, workplace or other health providers. Please ensure you have your appointment date and time in your calendar as it is your responsibility to attend your scheduled appointment. SMS and/or email reminders are scheduled to be sent to you two days prior to your appointment, however sometimes technical issues do arise.

At you First Appointment

You’ll be greeted by our warm and professional reception team. You’ll meet your clinician in a safe, welcoming environment. We’ll spend time getting to know you and/or your child, understanding your concerns, and discussing your goals for therapy or support. The clinician will let you know the length of each session which may differ depending on the funder. We recommend booking 3-6 sessions at the conclusion of your appointment to secure the day and time that is suitable for you.

Ongoing Sessions

Your clinician will work with you to develop a personalised treatment plan. Your plan will include the regularity of your sessions and strategies to practice in between sessions.
